If you haven't already, please take a few minutes to go through the Intro Course. It’s a short course that will help you learn a few of the basic tools.
Download the (6) files from this drop box link. Please save all of these files to your Desktop (or a very easily accessilble folder on your laptop). Included in these (3) files are:
Training notes: These are the training notes, I recommend waiting until after the training to review these. Many of them won't make sense until after the course.
Furniture and appliance template: Again, make sure it is easily accessible in your files.
The plan view of the case study we will be using.
(3) Texture images: We will use these in our model.

Once you arrive at the building you can go to the 14th floor. If the security desk asks you to sign in you can say you are a guest at WeWork. I’ll be waiting in the lobby of the 14th floor. Our conference room is 14A and is under the name “Cody Design Studio”. If you are having trouble getting into the building, text me (805-996-0431) and I will come down to the lobby to meet you.
Remember to bring:
Laptop with SketchUp Make or Pro downloaded. This is very important, we won't be able to wait for anyone to download the program during the training.
Scroll wheel mouse (recommended)
Feel free to dress comfortably.
There will be endless coffee and fruit water available at the WeWork building for free.
Email Tammy by Wednesday afternoon (the 24th) with your lunch order for Thursday and Friday. Click on the links below to view the menus. You may need to adjust the delivery time to see the lunch menu depending on the time of day you are viewing it.
Important: If you click the menu item you may be able to see extra options for that item. Ie: Remove/add toppings, bread choices, etc. Be sure to include those choices with your order to me.
We will be using a single case study throughout the two days. Taking the project from beginning to end, developing a workflow for on-boarding, schematic design, final design, documentation and presentation. You may put your own spin on the design, but the main point of the training is to learn the tools for drawing and gain and efficient workflow.
